Fishy Fishy in a Dishy

Throw a line out, reel in quickly
Flailing about in the water no more
Size to feed a family of four
Laid on ice to keep it chilly
Back on land to clean the fishy
Some heads turned away from gore
Sliced in half so out guts pour
Cut the lining now feeling sickly

Battered and fried, it the fate of this fish
A lemon, some tartar sauce to complete the dish
Pretty fishy in a dishy
All gone now, fingers licky

I slipped the poem in a couple of appropriately themed library books.

A couple people read.

I attended an open mic at a cafe downtown but the person recording didn't film my actual presentation.  This is only the end when they applauded.
